{"id":557,"date":"2024-08-03T17:00:15","date_gmt":"2024-08-03T17:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/andreadiantonio.com\/?p=557"},"modified":"2024-08-03T17:00:16","modified_gmt":"2024-08-03T17:00:16","slug":"fire-emergency-teramo-environment-climate-impacts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/andreadiantonio.com\/it\/fire-emergency-teramo-environment-climate-impacts\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergenza incendi nella Provincia di Teramo: gli impatti su ambiente e clima"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questo blog \u00e8 stato originariamente scritto per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iltrafiletto.it\">Il Trafiletto<\/a> ed \u00e8 visitabile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iltrafiletto.it\/2024\/08\/03\/emergenza-incendi-nella-provincia-di-teramo-gli-impatti-su-ambiente-e-clima\/9-6778.html\">qui<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019incendio che ha colpito la localit\u00e0 di Carapollo gioved\u00ec e quello di Castiglione Messer Raimondo venerd\u00ec sono solo gli ultimi episodi, in ordine cronologico, di un fenomeno preoccupante di incendi boschivi che, soprattutto d\u2019estate, affligge la nostra provincia e la nostra regione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indipendentemente dalla natura dolosa o meno di tali incendi, il loro numero crescente e l\u2019espansione delle aree coinvolte pongono serie domande sul loro impatto ambientale. La risposta a tali interrogativi \u00e8 complessa e comprende molteplici aspetti. In primo luogo, c'\u00e8 l\u2019impatto sulla fauna locale, costretta ad abbandonare il proprio habitat a causa degli incendi, il che talvolta comporta anche lo sgombero delle popolazioni umane che vivono nelle vicinanze. In secondo luogo, c\u2019\u00e8 l\u2019impatto ambientale locale legato alle emissioni di inquinanti dovuti alla combustione del legno, come le polveri sottili e il monossido di carbonio, che sono estremamente tossici per l\u2019uomo, specialmente in concentrazioni elevate. Infine, ma non per importanza, va considerato il ruolo fondamentale svolto dagli alberi nell'assorbimento dell'anidride carbonica (CO\u2082).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Durante il giorno, in presenza della luce solare, le foglie degli alberi utilizzano la clorofilla, un particolare pigmento in grado di catturare la luce solare, per svolgere la fotosintesi clorofilliana, una reazione chimica che converte anidride carbonica e acqua in glucosio e ossigeno. L\u2019anidride carbonica assorbita per questa reazione viene poi immagazzinata nei tessuti legnosi dell'albero, dove pu\u00f2 rimanere per decenni o addirittura secoli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c8 dunque facile intuire l\u2019importanza degli alberi e, in generale, delle foreste nella lotta alla crisi climatica causata dall\u2019aumento della concentrazione di anidride carbonica nell\u2019atmosfera. In quest\u2019ottica, il verificarsi di un incendio ha un duplice effetto negativo sull\u2019ambiente: non solo si riduce la superficie in grado di assorbire anidride carbonica grazie alla fotosintesi, ma la CO\u2082 che era stata immagazzinata negli alberi per tutta la loro vita viene rilasciata nuovamente in atmosfera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il rilascio dell\u2019anidride carbonica immagazzinata negli alberi pu\u00f2 avvenire non solo tramite incendi, ma anche attraverso il disboscamento, con effetti negativi sull\u2019ambiente analoghi a quelli descritti. La riduzione delle aree boschive a causa degli incendi contribuisce ad accelerare un processo di cambiamento climatico gi\u00e0 sufficientemente rapido. Risulta pertanto fondamentale preservare le aree boschive esistenti, specialmente da atti deliberati di piromani, e provvedere al ripristino di quelle distrutte nel modo pi\u00f9 rapido ed efficiente possibile.<\/p>\n\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-557\" data-postid=\"557\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-557 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This blog was originally written for Il Trafiletto and accessible here.
