{"id":335,"date":"2023-10-01T13:52:38","date_gmt":"2023-10-01T13:52:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/andreadiantonio.com\/?p=335"},"modified":"2023-10-01T13:52:39","modified_gmt":"2023-10-01T13:52:39","slug":"vajont-dam-disaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/andreadiantonio.com\/it\/vajont-dam-disaster\/","title":{"rendered":"1963-2023: 60 anni dal disastro del Vajont"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c8 ottobre e, come ogni anno in questo periodo, ricorre l'anniversario del disastro del Vajont: un evento che, nonostante la portata e l'importanza, in troppi non conoscono e di cui, sebbene vi siano diverse opere dedicate (es. documentari, libri, film), si parla ancora troppo poco. Quest'anno, in particolare, si celebra il 60esimo anniversario alla presenza del Presidente della Repubblica Sergio Mattarella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il disastro ha origine con la costruzione di uno sbarramento all\u2019interno della valle del Vajont, una caratteristica valle a forma di \u201cV\u201d che sorge a cavallo tra il Veneto ed il Friuli Venezia Giulia. La diga, nota come diga del Vajont e mostrata in Figura 1, viene realizzata in prossimit\u00e0 della confluenza del torrente Vajont all\u2019interno del Piave, per creare un bacino idroelettrico capace di 150 milioni di m<sup>3<\/sup> d'acqua. Secondo l\u2019ipotesi pi\u00f9 accreditata, la presenza del lago ha causato la mobilitazione di un grande ed antico ammasso franoso presente sul versante sinistro del lago.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/andreadiantonio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_5821.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-337\" style=\"width:398px;height:530px\" width=\"398\" height=\"530\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Figura 1<\/strong> Diga del Vajont, vista da Longarone (BL).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il 9 ottobre 1963, alle 22:39, una frana di 270 milioni di m<sup>3<\/sup> si riversa alla velocit\u00e0 di circa 100 km\/h all'interno del lago spostando 50 dei circa 115 milioni di m<sup>3<\/sup> d'acqua presenti in quel momento: l\u2019impatto d\u00e0 origine ad un'onda alta 200 metri. L\u2019onda si divide in tre parti: la prima risale sulla sponda in destra orografica del lago, la seconda ripercorre all\u2019indietro il lago e la terza, di circa 25 milioni di m<sup>3<\/sup>, procede in direzione della diga, la sovrasta  e, si riversa nella valle sottostante. Ciascuna delle tre parti dell\u2019onda rade al suolo tutto ci\u00f2 che incontra sulla loro strada e causando la morte di 1910 persone.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/andreadiantonio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_5787.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-336\" style=\"width:597px;height:448px\" width=\"597\" height=\"448\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Figura 2<\/strong> Superficie di rottura della frana vista da Casso (PD).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le cause ed i responsabili di quanto accaduto sono stati oggetto di un lungo processo e di diversi studi scientifici che ancora oggi cercano di spiegare il meccanismo di un evento senza precedenti. Le dinamiche che hanno portato al disastro ed i risvolti successivi, hanno sempre suscitato un grande interesse da parte mia sin da quando ne sono venuto a conoscenza all'et\u00e0 di sette anni. L\u2019interesse \u00e8 aumentato significativamente nel corso degli ultimi anni a seguito della lettura di un grande quantitativo di libri sul tema ed all\u2019interazione con superstiti e studiosi del fenomeno.
