My name is Andrea, and my journey in atmospheric science began during my high school years when I first discovered my passion for meteorology. This passion led me to pursue a BSc and MSc in Atmospheric Physics at the University of Rome, \u201cTor Vergata\u201d. My academic journey took an exciting turn when my brother, a post-doctoral research associate in Chemistry, introduced me to the Centre for Atmospheric Science at the University of Cambridge. Inspired by my experience there, I decided to pursue a PhD within the same group and successfully defended my thesis four years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside my scientific interests, I have a deep and long-standing interest in the Vajont dam disaster. This has led me to study the event in depth, write a book focused on the decision-making processes that led to the catastrophe, and create a dedicated YouTube channel aimed at preserving its memory and sharing its lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing my PhD, I transitioned from academia to apply my expertise in real-world challenges. I spent two years as a Data and Technology Manager at New AutoMotive, an organization dedicated to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles. Today, I work as a Senior Software Engineer at Cambridge Environmental Research Consultants (CERC), where I develop advanced models for tracking the dispersion of pollutants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In parallel with my professional work, I am committed to raising awareness of climate change and air quality in my home region of Abruzzo. I do this through OsservaTE<\/a><\/em>, a column I manage to communicate scientific insights, local environmental issues, and the urgency of informed action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My goal is to combine rigorous atmospheric science and clear communication to help build greater awareness of air pollution and climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n
